HAPPY MAY
Isn't this basket just adorable? It's the basket I received from my May Basket Swap that Artsymama organized. My swap partner (Katie) and I exchanged addresses and found that we live only about 10 miles from each other - small world - for both of us to have fortunately found Artsymama's blog ~ we spoke about how much we enjoy Artsymama's creations.
Okay, I'm not sure how many more times I can put Artsymama in this post but if you leave me a comment on how many times I used it in this post I'll put you in for a drawing for a special prize. I'll post the prize when I post the winner! (International friends are welcome too)! All you have to do is leave me a comment today with the correct # of times I said "Artsymama". I'll do the drawing on Friday of this week.
A corner of my house.....
I love the blogs that I read that show snippets/corners of their home ~ so I'm gonna start that on Tuesdays on my blog
The entire time we lived in England I really wanted a tapestry. The ones I liked the most were in the $700-$800 price range. Those figures I saved to spend on furniture but just couldn't fatham spending that on something I was going to hang on the wall. Visiting the castles and stately homes around England made me want one even more.
We left England the first time in 2000 and moved to Nebraska and within two weeks of moving there the base store had a sale on rugs and tapestries and I landed this beauty for $299.00. It is just as gorgeous (doesn't have the age on it that I liked about the English tapestries) but the price was certainly right! In Nebraksa I had it in my formal living room and it looked magicial with the 12 ft. high ceilings. It's proudly displayed now (in our GA home) in the dining area of our kitchen.
Off to my last day with the bowling league on base (for this season anyway). My dad leaves today to drive up to see my older sister and her family ~ will miss having him here but he'll be back in a couple of weeks with my mom.
Have a blessed Tuesday!

Your basket is beautiful, cute, & so creative. Thanks for sharing! The tapestry is absolutely gorgeous. I don't remember seeing it when I was over there. I guess I need to be more observant! What a good idea to share things in your home. I've been working on my craft room for DAYS! I'll take pictures when I'm finished and share them.
