No Air Conditioner & Paint Classes

How's that for a hodge podge title?!

I'm sitting here waiting for the air conditioner repair guy to show up - hate that I have to pay the overtime rate but right now it's worth every penny - cause it's hot in my house!
While we were here at the house painting Friday night my air seemed stop working - it was cool just beore everyone got here and of course while guests were over it stopped. I checked the temp on the unit - said it was set for 70 but read 87. It was so humid and hot and the ladies were super sweet about it although I'm sure they were sweating like crazy and hiding it from me as to not make me feel bad.

We had some fun paint classes this week! I had an ornament class like I did earlier in the month
and a Crafty Wave Welcome Sign class.

Julia

Martha

This was her first class with me and her first time painting. She said she's always wanted to learn and she jumped in full blast and did such an awesome job!
She also signed up for Donna Dewberry's workshop that we're having next month - Oct. 9th & Oct. 10th. (I still have a spot in the Sat. Oct. 10th workshop to fill if you want to come?? Let me know)

Lanelle

Nicole

Of course I asked Nicole to write Welcome on anyones sign that wanted it painted on NICELY! She has the most incredible handwriting and can paint words beautifully! They all loved it and I think we're so excited they didn't have to paint the words themselves.

Karen

This was Karen's first class with me although not her first time painting. It had been awhile and she said she was ready to get back into to! So glad she did and it was awesome having her here - (just sad my house had to be so hot! urgh!)

Sherri

There say you have a twin in the world and every time I look at Sherri I see my good friend Nancy C. from England - they look like long lost twin sisters!

We had a fabulous McTier family reunion yesterday too! Hubby had already gone up to get ready for it on Friday and the boys and I went up yesterday for some good southern food for lunch! I'm hoping to get some pictures from my mother in law to share - didn't take too many with my camera.
Gotta go - the air conditioner guy is here $ $ $ OVERTIME rate for coming just to tell me what is wrong with it is $104.00. Crazy huh? Hopefully he'll be in and out of here so we can make it to church on time and then I have to finish getting ready for my classes this week. Of course will share those pics with you soon.

Have a great day!

Monday Paint Class ~

We painted the rooster that was taught at the Dewberry Painting Retreat this past summer. We adapted him a bit and painted him with High Def. paint that has the most amazing finish when it dries.

We're painting ornaments tomorrow so I'll share those photos with you soon!
Have a great day.

It's Official.....
we're the parents of 3 teenage boys as of today!

HAPPY 13th Birthday to our youngest HOLLAND!

WOW! Where does the time go? Our baby is 13 years old today! Seems like yesterday he was born - a day earlier than expected - a result of me slipping on ice in Iceland and going into labor.

Holland is named after a some pretty famous McTier relatives and is such a HAPPY kid - oops! teenager.

He is our comic relief - every day! Makes us laugh with his quick wit and humor and we LOVE to hear him laugh ~ he's got a great and contagious laugh!!

My hubby had marinated steaks all day and planned to grill out but the birthday boy made mention several times how awesome it would be to go to Georgia Bob's - the best BBQ - pulled pork - restaurant around our area! After about the 3rd or 93rd mention my husband said he was convinced and it was Holland's b-day so he should get to decide! So off we went.

All my boys!! I'm such a lucky girl!

My boys have never been too fond of me taking pictures and especially in a restaurant!

Kendall - being cheeky as usual!

Doesn't that look yummy!!! Unless you are a vegetarian and if you are I'm sorry - it's still yummy!

Of course you'd think the boys would order some BBQ but NO! it's chicken finger basket for them all!!??!! They are fresh made though and not any kind of frozen yucky processed ones. Okay, I know the french fries are!
Then it was home for cake....thank goodness my boys are too fussy about what we make - NOT!
I had a vanilla and yellow cake mix and my son wanted CHOCOLATE with CHOCOLATE icing! Thank goodness they are satisfied with a bundt and don't have to have some special design ~ would have to order out ~ that's not my specialty
.

Our middle son doesn't like chocolate that much - he'll eat a chocolate bar, chocolate candy of any kind actually but doesn't really care of chocolate cake or icing?? Silly huh? So he said he was eating all of the ice cream instead of having cake. He ended up having a small piece and LOVED it! It was triple chocolate with chocolate chunk icing! I did splurge and had a couple of bites but after our big dinner was too full.
Hope you have a great week!
