My latest projects ~
Well, I've been painting like crazy since I decided this past week to participate as a vendor at the Spring & Home Garden Show at the Perry Fairgrounds this coming weekend in Perry, GA!

I have had stacks of old windows hanging around waiting to be painted and it's amazing how much I get done when I really need to get it done!

Tulips & butterfly

This canvas is huge - 24 x48. I used the High Definition paint and it has such a beautiful shine to it. It's gallery wrapped with a wide edge on the side so would look great not framed and hung.

Cala lilies

Another HD paint 12x12 Canvas
What flower does this look like to you??? It was just in my head and had to come out ~ not sure if it is a particular flower but I like it.

On this window I painted dogwood and then added dogwood and leaves that I made out of the new Studio Home Dimensions Clay. I love it, it's unexpected and just jumps off the window! Click on the window for a larger view!
I did another one with grapevines and grapes and added some clay to the side but it's not finished so I'll share that with you later.

Hope you have a great week. I'll be in every now and then this week posting my latest creations. I do hope to also get by and check out my favorite blog friends. I so appreciate all of your visits!

My little newphew had a birthday yesterday - 3 yrs. old! Oh my, how time goes by so quickly!
Have a safe trip to TN this week sister to see our other sister! Wish I were able to go as well.
Blessings,
Sandy

Surprise in the mail today! Our Party boy & Painting Parrots

WOW! What a surprise we received in the mail today! You might remember that I posted about sending my son's IPOD off to a repair center, and we hadn't heard anything from them and every time we tried to contact them we got an instant email reply that was obviously a tactic to not have to communicate with those that sent their ipods in for repair. There were also TONS of complaints on the web about them that of course we didn't see before we mailed it off to them. Then for the last couple of months on their site they claimed that the government had seized all of their merchandise and customer's merchandise - no shock there! HOWEVER, today we got our IPOD back in the mail, and believe it or not, it was FIXED.

Our party boy ~ last night our youngest went to a dance at school and it was dress either in the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s and this is what our little one came up with. He rocked and had one of the best outfits at the dance - the great thing was no one really recognized him until he spoke.

Since my boys got Rock Band they have listened to music I haven't heard in years and we love it!

Painting Parrots ~
Yesterday in paint class we painted a parrot. We had a great time as usual!

New Painting and Painting class ~

So here is my latest painting with the new HD paint - Hydrangeas ~ it's so hard to see the white hydrangeas so I took it with the flash and without. I am getting so used to this paint and learning to just leave it alone when I want to do more - something that is very hard for me!
I also have to learn that unlike acrylics that dry much faster I have to walk away and leave it for a while so that it can dry before moving on ~ now that is really HARD for me cause I like to get it DONE fast.

We painted Easter Lilies this week and had such a great group of ladies that did amazing well painting this flower. Roz brought the real life plant in and taught us all about this plant - did you know it has ovaries?

I originally painted it on green and it wasn't much of a contrast so I went to the reds which I taught looked great but the red of course bleeds through the white - no matter how much paint you put on it. So, some of us painted it on red and the others on black.

Nonie and her family were in town visiting Kim and family (all the way from Ohio) and they came to a class last night!
Her and her daughters came to class with Kim and it was so much fun having them in there.

(an absolute hoot ~ and so much fun to have in class)

Nicolanne ~
Nic lost her voice and not that she ever talks that much at class but it was weird to have her so quiet.

Kim, Nonie, and Tiffany.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We did. My teenage boys were so excited to get candy ~ they thought for sure they were too old for that tradition but we surprised them!
Gotta get ready for paint class for tomorrow ~ we're painting a parrot.

BIRTHDAYS, High Definition painting, and paint classes~
We've had two more March birthdays in our family ~ my oldest son turned 14 on the 14th! I was in Florida and had planned to be home but we painted later than expected so I came home on Saturday. Today is my nephew CHANDLER's 15th Birthday. Happy Birthday Chan!
I remember surprising my sister about a week after she had him. Her hubby and I had it all worked out and I flew in from Japan and he picked me up at the airport. He told her there was something in the car for her and there I was waiting in the carport for her. Chandler was a baby full of colic and I remember walking around in a circle through their living room, foyer, dining room, kitchen and back through the living room singing Amazing Grace to him - it really calmed him and I got quite the work out walking so much.

I'm having an absolute blast painting with this Plaid HD paint
I painted this topiary this week and if I do say so myself ~ I love it!
It's actually hanging in my bathroom right now but I'm not sure if I'll leave it unframed or not and move it to another place in the house.

At paint class this week we painted
Spring table runners and grapes.

This one I cut around the flowers to make the edge more interesting.

Jenny won the drawing and took home the project piece I painted in class. I dropped my brush on the canvas so I had to paint a dragonfly and butterfly over where the brush hit.

Roz

Earlier in the week we painted grapes on these fabulous crackled plates. They look so grecian to me on that gold crackled plate.

Linda

This was Linda's first class ever and she did a beautiful job. She told me she probably has every
Donna Dewberry kit ever sold on QVC and hasn't opened a one as planned when she purchased them.

Last week in Florida ~ Charlie and I had all intentions of coming back to the hotel and doing some serious painting - batiks and landscapes ~ however, we were so whipped from the paint classes that we came back to the hotel and bathed and fell into our beds exhausted with no energy to paint antoher thing. We both stayed Friday evening because we actually went longer in the day than expected. We ended up eating at Cracker Barrell at like 8:30p.m. with Lori and Billie and we had a blast chatting and relaxing. We didn't make it back to our room until 10p.m. and then I jumped in the shower, dried my hair and just as I walked out the bathroom I heard the fire alarm going off. Charlie was sound asleep and I thought for sure it was a false alarm or a prank seeing that there were a lot a kids staying at our hotel for spring break. WELL, it wasn't! I opened the door and it was so smokey in the hall. I yelled for Charlie and I grabbed my purse and Charlie grabbed her purse but left her car keys and lap top in the room and we walked out to see 7 fire engines and a hotel full of quests standing outside and the hotel filling up with more and more smoke. There were also a lot of very drunk men outside! Some were carrying bottles of alcohol and others were cussing each other out - I thought for sure they had something to do with the fire alarm going off. However, it was actually a dryer in the hotel laundry service room (right across the hall from our room) that had caught on fire. It was quite comical and we were waiting for the news crews to show up so we could say hi to Donna on TV and laughing the entire time. We finally got back into the hotel about midnight and fell right into bed and watched Sex in the City.

Hope you and your family have a FABULOUS EASTER!!!
Sandy
