Wednesday Paint Classes ~

I know I've been lame in updating my blog ~ sorry ~ been busy!

We painted cards yesterday in paint class.
My classes for the next couple months are geared around gift giving! We painted 5 different cards so that they could be scanned and printed off the original and given as gifts either for Christmas or throughout the year.

We decided to not write on our cards in class but I recommended printing the text off the computer and use carbon paper to transfer the words - and then paint them. IT is much easier to make sure they are straight, spaced correctly and there will be enough room for the words and not have them squeezed into each other.

You'll be seeing lots more pictures this month as I have a record high "69" students in Oct. ~ Plus 2 classes with HL employees for another 11 students ~ for 80 total.
WOW, what a difference a year makes. I started teaching classes at HL last October and started with 6 students that entire month. I've been so blessed to not only get to share my passion for painting with these students but also getting to know them and building friendships!

Here are some pics from my weekend with Nicole at the Oliver Hardy Festival in Harlem, GA. We did very well for it being our first fair and we've since signed up for two more! We're on the waiting list for the big fair here in Macon and are really hoping to get in!

I got a new camera - "an early birthday present" from my hubby!
It's a Canon PowerShot A720 IS and is so totally awesome! It is so much lighter than my other camera too which is great! Now, I have to learn what I can do with it. I tried taking a picture of it with my old camera - but it was too blurry to post ~ good timing for the new camera!!

We're attending my husbands 25th high school reunion this weekend. I'm nervous about it - won't know anyone but my hubby and I'm sure he's gonna want to mingle. We were overseas for his 10th and for his 20th he came back from England to attend that by himself. He gave me a budget to spend on my new outfit to go with his stylish new suit that he purchased this past weekend and in true Sandy style ~ my first thought was...
I'll spend $50.00 on a dress, wear some shoes I already have and go to the Coach outlet and get a $350.00 bag ~ HEHEHE! I'll share pictures with you after the weekend!

Reminders:
*Don't forget to click on the Breast Cancer button on the top right every day!
*Every time you leave me a comment this month you go into the drawing for a piece of ART created by me. I'm currently working on it and will post it when it's done. It's pink and pretty!I'll do the drawing at the end of the month.
* Go on over to KJ's and enter her 100th post giveaway drawing! Time is running out! Let her know I sent you!

Just found this site ~ It makes the coolest names with all different kinds of letters. You can go to the bottom of my blog and see mine. If you click on the letters once your name comes up you can change the style of letters. http://metaatem.net/words/

Wow! Love the craft booth! How did you make the M and the E?? Glad you did well and enjoyed yourself. Sometimes they turn out to be more work than they are worth. Sure hope you get into the fair in Macon. Love the cards and hope you will share the RTG via email if you have one. You look great and I can't wait to see pictures of the Reunion!

Sandi ~ Everything is good! I was a bit down eariler this week but am back to feeling MYSELF again ~ which is GREAT! It's so nice to know people CARE! Thank you!!

Karla ~ I am so glad Fall is finally getting here but do miss it staying lighter later - I do seem to get less done. It's also harder to get out from underneath the covers when it's nice and cool!

Terry ~ great chatting with you on the phone! The M & E are paper mache and Nicole found those in Florida. She made the panels (with her daughter) didn't they do an amazing job?!! The cards were awesome. I emailed you the directions!

I am right there with you on the coach purse...exactly what I'd do. I've always been a money hoarder. When my mom gave me cash to eat with in high school when we went to band contest, speech contest, etc. I'd never eat and save the money and by the end of the year I had enough for a new outfit!

LOL! Sandy, I like the way that you think except I probably would have rebudgeted the $350 on scrapbook paper! :o

Love the cards! So fun! And I am so happy that things are going so well for you. It couldn't happen to a more talented or more deserving person!!

Hi Sandy, your booth looked fantastic, good luck on future sales. I have the same exact camera. Your pictures look wonderful. If I read the book to mine more, I know I could take better pictures, but when all else fails, then read the directions...right??
Have a Great Weekend,
Mary

Hi Sandy, thank you so much for your visit and sweet comment to my blog. What a lovely place you have here. Your paintings are just beautiful!! I did a little browsing and still have lots more to read and I am looking forward to spending some time here. What beautiful smiles all these ladies have, and rightly so their work is amazing! :o) I can tell you enjoy painting and teaching, that is wonderful. It is such a real blessing to do what you love and to be able share it with others. I sure hope you come back for another visit, and I will most certainly be dropping by to see more of your beautiful work...

Enjoy the rest of your weekend...
