Wednesday Paint Class ~
Today we painted a landscape with birch trees, shadow trees in the background, a bit of land and water with a reflection from the trees - all NEW to my students and we used the new One Stroke High Definition Paint!
It mimics oils but has none of the smell, clean up or waiting issues like you do with oils.

I am so thrilled with how smoothly the class went and how we all stayed on track - together!
I scheduled it as a 3 hour class as I wasn't sure how much time we'd really need with this new paint. Everyone finished at least 20 minutes early. Since we were there so long I told my students to bring a snack and had intended to bring a small snack to share ~ but got too busy to get anything made ~ so I took my usual chocolates to share! Sweet Jane walks in with a tupperware container full of the greenest, tastiest grapes and Nicole wheels in a HL buggy with two containers one with the sweetest strawberries (I ate half of them) and grapes and the other container had small pigs in a blanket - do you know what those are? Dough wrapped around a small hot dog. YUM! Everyone was very appreciative of the snacks! Thank you ladies. I mentioned a recipe for another yummy treat and will share that recipe at the end of this post.



We had a FULL class today. I normally limit my classes to 6 so that I'm not rushed, they aren't rushed and they get the attention they need from me in each class. My landscape classes are the first to fill up and I usually allow up to 8 ~ I hate to say no.

I'm sad that Christy is moving away - she was one of my first students and left handed students at that which makes a big difference. She amazed me though and rocked out every project she painted in my classes! We'll miss having your smiling face in class Christy and hope you'll keep in touch with us through the blog and email!








Here is the recipe I mentioned above ~ I used to make these for everything when we had to take something to a potluck or friends house - they are yummy and the hardest part about them is trying not to eat them all yourself.
Bacon Pinwheels
Crescent roll dough (pillsbury or whatever brand you want)
Open it and have 2 squares side by side (will be 4 triangles making squares)
Roll out just a bit to smooth the creases together.
Mix ~ block of softened cream cheese, bacon bits, green onions together and spread over the crescent roll dough - leaving one of the long edges without some of the mixture on it.
Roll up the dough - jelly roll style and slice (works best with a scerated (sp?) knife) lay on a cookies sheet leaving space between each pinwheel and bake for 9 minutes on 350. I have found depending on the type of oven you have it might take more or less time ~ so keep an eye on them and when they are golden brown take them out. THEY WILL BE VERY HOT!!! So, don't take a bite of one immediately after removing it from the oven. My husband can attest to the fact that the cheese will BURN your tongue!
