Long time no post!

Hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July.
I went to Atlanta this past Thurs. - Sat. to visit with my sister in law and neice. We had so much fun hanging out. We ate at an amazing restaurant in Roswell and if you are ever in that area you have to go to the Fickle Pickle.

Isn't this picture just the funniest? Have you ever seen a squirrel just laying out? I was sitting at my sil's dining room table and turned to look out the window - ever have that feeling like someone is looking at you? Well, I did and it wasn't someone but something ~ this little fella having a lazy day on the deck. He'd get up and scratch but then it was right back into this position and every now and again would tilt his head over to see what I was doing.

As soon as I got home on Saturday I started organizing my portfolio and student paint project book to take down to the painting convention I'm going to tomorrow. I think I've told you before what a procrastinator I am but in case you've forgotten let me tell you exactly what I had to do. I had to print all the pictures that you've seen on my blog of my students (from the past year) at paint class and crop those and put them into an album so that I could take that with me tomorrow. It took 3 days to print, tons of $$ for printer ink (still cheaper I think then going to have them printed), one whole day to crop and 1 1/2 days to put them into my album. Why I don't do this step after each class is beyond me but it's now on a list of TO DO's so that I can start with my July 2008 classes and next year I won't be in the same boat. I also had to make sure that I had all the project folders that I give my students at each class so that I could put that in the binder that I'm taking to convention. If I didn't have it, I had to print it, laminate it and organize it alphabethically in the binder~ again for the whole year!! P*R*O*C*R*A*S*T*I*N*A*T*O*R!!

Here are some clay things that I created today for the silent auction at convention ~

I loved this mirror and loved it even more when I saw the clearance price of $4.08 at Hobby Lobby.
It was screaming cala lilies at me and actually looks so much better in person than the picture shows.

Iris

This basket ~ again on clearance at Hobby Lobby ~ was only $2.08
I wanted something tall on it and thought these sculpted iris flowers would be pretty on it.

Daisies and bee

Another basket that was only $2.08 at Hobby Lobby

The theme for the convention this year is Flower Power so I made this slide pendant out of Studio Clay and slid it on ~ isn't it just too cute! Of course I had to bling it up with some crystals and super glued those on in the middle.

On the subject of super glue ~ that is a product that I love because it's FAST drying, but when your fingers are together or stuck to a metal basket it's no fun! hehehe. I can't tell you the amount of super glue patches I have on my fingers and hands. Crazy stuff.

Well, I'm hoping to have some time during the convention to post if possible! Have a great day.
Blessings,
Sandy

You were about 15 minutes from me. We love the Fickle Pickle and the whole little Roswell Square area. Glad you had a nice visit. The picture of the sunning squirrel is a hoot.

Okay, where is this Hobby Lobby of which you speak? Why do we not have such a fantastic shop nearby? I think you're making it up, lol! I have 10 bucks burning a hole in my pocket and I could sure use a Hobby Lobby about now!

You're killing me with all your Hobby Lobby finds. You've got such an eye. Clearance things scream at me all the time. Half of them get transformed 5 years later...
Love all your creations. Your clay work is amazing! Don't worry, I'm a big procrastinator too!
