HS Open House & Clay ~
So, as I mentioned in yesterdays post, we had HS open house last night since my oldest will be in 9th grade next year. We haven't heard the best of things about this school and we really just wanted to see for ourselves. Let me tell you how pleasantly surprised we were! The 9th graders are pretty much segregated in their own wing called the Freshman Academy. They rarely interact with other grades and since our son is in all the advanced/gifted classes other than his electives we think all is going to be GREAT! We haven't made a final decision but at least we feel better about our options.

Today, I had a clay class with Alice. We created the clay picture frame with sculpted leaves and I just love how easy and fun this project is. It was just Alice and I ~ so I stayed in my sweats and slippers and she came with no make up on - she didn't want me to take her picture but she's lovely with makeup or without!

Hope you are having a great week so far. Mine has been busy and I'm working on stuff for the Battle of Byron this coming Saturday.
Blessings,
Sandy

My son is just finishing his freshman year of HS. WOW!! Where does the time go?

I'm sure you will make the right decision for your son.

Again another beautiful art project.

Hi Sandy
It's always hard making a decision on your kids education, I'm sure you'll make the right one.
Love the clay idea, how fabulous, where do you get all your ideas from...they seem never ending!

Did Alice enjoy working in the clay? They look lovely...and you know Sandy I think the decisions we come to when it comes to our children are appropriate at the time we make them...don't second guess yourself, I think you know you made the right decision

Hi Sandy,

Been out of town and catching up with everyone. I remember trying to make those decisions with our kids and school and it all seemed to work out in the end. Loved catching up with you and your students, it's always fun to see what great projects you have in the works. Hope you have a wonderful weekend Sandy!
