Clay day with Barb, more hydrangeas, more clay
and "Mom, I almost got shot in the eye! "

On Wednesday, I spent the day with Barb and we played with clay. She won a clay play day with me for taking 6 paint classes with me in March.

I knew the exact project that we'd create - a faux slate heart with hydranges made out of clay.
I had made one and gave it to Donna Dewberry when I went to HD certs. last month and Barb really LOVED it when I showed it to her - so knew that was what we'd create.
We had a fabulous lunch and lots of time to laugh and chat.

If you haven't tried this clay yet you can find it at AC Moore or JoAnn's craft stores or you can purchase it at http://www.onestroke.com/ ~ it's incredible! It's made my Sculpey and Donna Dewberry. The best thing about it is it holds it's shape when you sculpt it ~ so there is no putting aluminum foil underneath the raised areas to keep it lifted - when you bake it in the oven (30 minutes on 275 degrees) it stays in the position that you put it!

While she was busy creating the hydrangea petals (it was a bit tedious)
I created a hibiscus out of clay for her.
More baskets of hydrangeas
We painted the basket of hydrangea in paint class on Wednesday

Roz
Roz won the drawing and took this painting home that I painted with them in class.

Barb
Nicole ~I had a better picture of her acting up but didn't think she'd appreciate
the picture of her chest plastered on my blog - hehehe!

Saturday Studio Clay class~
at my home. They haven't gotten the product yet at Hobby Lobby so I'm going to teach these classes at my home until they do! It's too much fun not to SHARE. We created frames with sculpted leaves and then we glued them to the frames and stained them! The ladies that came today LOVED the product, especially the tools and the final project!

Sherry

Sherry won the drawing and got to
take come the frame that I created
during class.

If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen to my middle son Kendall. He got shot in the face with a bb gun by a friends 5 yr. old brother. Don't ask me why that 5 yr. old had a bb gun in his hand but it really freaked me out ~ thinking a bit to the left and it could have been his ear or a bit to the right and straight in his eye!!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'll be back on Tuesday to post my LAST day of bowling league scores and post pictures from both paint classes on Monday.
Have a great day.
Blessings,
Sandy

My brother did that to me with a BB gun when I was little. I have never let him live it down ;) (That's supposed to be a wink and a smile). I love him dearly but since he's 9 years older than me, I had to have something to hold over him.

I love that frame. I would look great with a mirror, too.

Glad your son is alright Sandy. My son accidentally shot himself with a bb gun when it bounced off a wall. He sure wasn't 5 years old though! Your class looks so much fun. Great work! ~Martha

Love geraniums (and hydragias). What a close call on your son's eye. I got shot in the leg by the neighborhood bully when I was young and it hurt SO BAD! I can't imagine getting shot in the face.
