IPOD MECHANIC SCAM!!!! BEWARE

I'm so frustrated!! We sent my youngest sons Ipod to Ipod Mechanic and I just read on a scam site that Ipod Mechanics is a scam and they they steal Ipods. They sure did check out and have one heck of a legitimate site on the web. We became very suspicous after receiving instant reply emails stating that they would get back with us. We've not had one personal email since sending the Ipod off in early January. I wonder why places like this are allowed to continue to pop up ~ they should be shut out as soon as they are found out to be scams.
I pray that I am wrong and that my sons Ipod is returned but I highly doubt it. PLEASE do not send your IPOD to them and pass it along to anyone that you know that is having issues with their Ipod. Now, we'll be looking into legal action but what can you do with a company online with obviously a bogus telephone # and probably address as well. Any of my blog readers live in Michigan? That is where they SAY they are located.

Sorry had to vent!

Oh Sandy what a terrible thing to happen.
Vent away.
At least if nothing else you are warning others not to fall for the same scam.

I'm a firm believer in the Better Business Bureau...if the BBB doesn't know 'em, I don't either...
hope you get it back, and if not, you need to notify the BBB in the town it was shipped to, plus send their State's Attorney General a letter (registered, that way they can't say they didn't get it) describing the transaction and copies of everything you have, including the instant reply e-mail...they go after internet fraud, but they can't fix it if they don't know it's broken! If there's any other help I can give you, Sandy, please let me know.

This is awful. So sorry this has happened to you and your son. I agree with Sandi - check any business through the BBB before moving forward and for items like ipods, computers, etc. only use the company repair (i.e. Apple, Dell, etc.). Try contacting your Department of Conusmer Protection and Michigan's as well. Good luck.

Oh Sandy, so sorry this happened to you. I've never heard of them. Don't worry about venting, we all have to from time to time. Things like this just make you mad.

Sorry, Holland doesn't have his Ipod. Sure hope you end up with a
legitimate company. Here's hoping.
Hope all are well.

I am outraged that this has happened to you and your son. You are so kind to pass this along to prevent others from having this happen to them. So sad when one goes to the extreme of hurting someone else in the name of making mony. I am so sorry this happened to you. I WILL pray that God will intervein in this....Smiles

That is terrible. I always try to do business locally, but more and more there are websites that I use. Anyone can look so reliable online!!
