D.C. bound and sick as a dog ~

So our 5th grader left this morning for D.C. I have prayed so much that he does not get lost. He is so attentive and will make sure everyone is in the group so I don't know why I'm worrying about it so much. Thanks for the reassurance Grandma that you'd go and pick him up if he got lost.

We got a wake up call from the school at 4:15a.m. since someone slept in last year and got left behind. We got everything ready and didn't wake little man up til 4:45a.m. and he jumped out of bed like he had a spring attached to his back. He was READY to get on that bus and go on this trip. He gave me a big hug and said he was going to miss me and that he felt bad that I had to stay behind. By the time I figured out I could go the chaperone slots had been filled. PLUS, I woke up this morning with 101 temp. so I don't know how much good I would have been on the trip. Thankfully our little guy got rid of his persistent cough that he had all last week ~ but darling hubby and I are now sick.

Where does the saying come from

Sick as a dog?

I don't know if my doggies have ever felt this bad.

I've been a bit under the weather since Tuesday evening and have gotten worse as they week has gone on. I woke up with a temp this morning, chills, hot, flushed cheeks, major headache ~ the kind where you can barely open your eyes cause it hurts so much. Hubby just emailed too and he isn't doing much better. Had plans for the weekend but think liquids and rest are the only things on tap for this weekend. OMGoodness.....my cell phone just rang and it was my sweet baby boy and he just called me to say Hi and that he loves and misses us!! Makes my heart just melt.

Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'm off to bed.

Blessings,
Sandy

Oh Sandy Honey, I hope you feel better soon and try not worry about Little Man, he's in good hands and been reared properly so I think No worries...wrap up warm, have a cuppa tea and find a good book or a movie if you aren't up to reading...

Hope you're not feeling too badly Sandy. Don't we always worry about our kids, I remember those school camps and my relief when they returned home safe and sound, he sounds like he's having a ball!!

Oh, Sandy (now I'm singing the Grease tune)- I feel your pain! Our house has had the crud for 2 weeks now - I certainly don't wish it on anyone!! Please get lots of rest, lots of liquids, and take whatever makes you feel relieved!! Know we're praying for you all. Love you, girl!! Chris

I hope that you feel better. We just got finished with a virus in the house and my daughter Ashley had strep throat. Your little boy sounds so cute, it is hard to let them go on these trips with school. I remember the first one when my daughter was nine. Yikes, I didn't breathe right until she was home. Have a good weekend, and feel better. Blessings, Karen
