Chickadee with holly & berries ~
that's what we painted yesterday in paint class.
I painted it on a couple of things since I couldn't get enough of the same project pieces.
My plate
I added the holly around the rim - think it would make a beautiful Christmas card!
My chickadee painted in the middle of a tray.

Lee
This was Lee's first class with me although I knew I knew her from somewhere.
She came to one of our events at the base sharing information about Breast Cancer Awareness!
This was Fran's first class with me at Hobby Lobby.
She had come to the Byron Welcome Center last year and took my peach class.
Fran won the drawing and took my project piece home which she was thrilled about - she said she had a friend that was just diagnosed with cancer (an artist herself) and she was going to give it to her.

We had lots of funny stories about berries and kids putting them in ears, noses, and parents spending hours in the ER because of their kids eating them (or on the line with poison control). Lots of fun and lots of laughs plus a lot of fabulous painting!
EDIT: Thanks for the help on the watermarks for photos - I received several emails and appreciate your help!!
I've had a fabulous response from my display up at the Byron Welcome Center and am continuing to work on stuff to replace items that have sold. I'll hopefully get around to posting those soon. Have a fabulous day!
Blessings,
Sandy

Hi Sandy
Remember me? Life has been sooooo C-R-A-Z-Y lately...but a good kind of crazy, so I can't complain even though it has kept me from visiting. But...I'm home now...for a week or so anyway. (Even though I'm sick with a cold AND a stomach virus, it's good to be home.)
I've had fun reading all your posts I've missed. I won't comment on each post, but I've loved them all. You've been a busy bee. So many good art projects.
Hugs!
Kat

I really like that chickadee - did you use a rake brush for the feathers? Might have to give him a try. Also, the shading around the holly, probably very easy and it looks great! Still want you to teach me the waterdrop trick! I just gotta get back to Georgia somehow.......
Oh My Gosh - how sweet is that! I love those birds..in fact one time when I was on vacation with my family as a child, I was not feeling well. They went skiing and Mom and I stayed at the lodge. The lady that ran the lodge gave me some bird seed - sat me down outside and told me to sit very very still. Soon I had all of these wonderful Chickadees sitting on and eating out of my hands!
Ohh those chickadees are so cute ~~ you do such great work!!
I hope you are having a good week,
Dawn
