Busy Busy Busy!

We had a fabulous celebration for Kendall's birthday ~ he reminds me of the "old" me ~ gets a little money in his pocket and has to go and spend it immediately. I say the "old" me because I have gotten out of that very bad habit. Actually, I think my sweet hubby has rubbed off on me and now I really do think about what I spend money on these days!

This week I am busy holding Kid's Craft Club at Hobby Lobby and having so much fun so far.
We are creating and painting lots of fun stuff. I'm really excited that all of the kids in class are girls so I can glitz it up and have fun with rhinestones, glitter and flowers!

I will post pics at the end of the week of what we've created. I had all the parents sign a release so that I can post the pictures and haven't gotten all of them back yet.

Friday, I have a clay class at my house with 5 ladies and then Saturday my hubby and I are hosting an office party for all the people that work in his office. It's gonna be nice ~ but we have a lot of stuff to get ready for it.

It's so sad about Tim Russert isn't it? Just goes to show we are not promised tomorrow and we better live each day like it's our last. I know I don't do this as often as I should.

Don't like posting with at least one picture so I'll show you what we made yesterday in craft club
Initial Ribbon/Hair clip hanger
Altered wooden caddy catchall
Have a fabulous day!

Sandy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR SWEET KENDALL!

OMGosh, today our middle son is 13 years old.

What a difference a year makes! He's now taller than me and inching his way to his father's height which is over 6ft. His interests have changed and went from loving & playing soccer to playing football and basketball. Engrossed with text messaging and all rock songs from the past with the popularity of Rock Band and Guitar Hero games.

I made the mistake recently of calling him sweet pea in front of his friends and they still call him that when I'm around ~ he is my sweet pea though and of all my boys he and I are like two peas in a pod - so much alike. (which can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation).

We're enjoying a nice Chinese dinner with my younger sister and her family & we'll have cake for my brother in law as well ~ who had a birthday earlier in the month.

Have a great weekend.
Smiles,
Sandy

Long time no post ~ I know!
First things first ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT ~ today is my brother in laws birthday! Hope you had a fantastic day. We love you!

I've been a bit behind on posting and visiting - busy with summer fun and running around like crazy. Last friday I had the pleasure of painting & creating with clay with Kim and her daughter Stephanie. Kim was the winner of a drawing from many months ago when she took 6 classes in a month and won the day to spend painting with me. Well, we've tried for months to work out a date and weren't going to have a full day since she had to get her youngest daughter settled with some things at UGA so I invited her daughter Stephanie to come and play with us.

They both had wedding gifts to give so we created vines and leaves to go on the stem of the wine goblets. Then we painted the aged geranium flower pot painting. We had a fabulous day and I so enjoyed having these ladies over painting and creating!

Today we had paint class and we painted Lily of the Valley

This was Sherry's first class
with me and she jumped right in - she's got some painting experience and paints miniatures -
very detailed and very pretty!

Sherry is Roz's daughter in law!

I did spend the weekend getting ready for my June classes I have 3 more painting classes this week, a week of kids classes next week, clay class, husbands office party (here at the house) and well just so much more but I won't bore you with those details.
My hubby and the boys went to his parents farm this weekend and picked, picked, picked veggies! We loaded up the freezer with lots of green beans and have been eating zuccini, squash, and cucumbers! YUM. Nothing like home grown produce! THANKS OPA!

It's hard to do much of anything with this heat! We set a record yesterday for our area with 100 degrees. We are in serious need of RAIN.

Well, off to get some paint class stuff done and watch the Bachelorette! Have a fab day!
Blessings,
Sandy

Splish Splash! & Painting for June Classes
We've been hitting the pool lately with the temps in the 90's - 94 today and boy was it hot.

We have an awesome pool on the base ~ it's an olympic sized pool.

My three fishies
They would be mortified if they
knew I called them that.

This actually ended in a really nice dive but from
the picture it sure does look like it's about to the
a very painful belly flop.

Austin did an awesome flip but my finger
snapped too quickly.

Austin & Kendall

I've been getting ready for my paint and clay classes this month ~ we're painting
this boat landscape in sepia tones that I painted at my paint certification in March.

We're also painting Lily of the Valley

and Passion Flower

We're also painting Columbine but I haven't painted that yet - still looking for the perfect project piece - I'll know it when I see it.

In my June Clay Class we'll be creating poppies on this tile message board. I might need to schedule another class as this class is FULL.

Have a fabulous day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA

& a giveway x 2.

Today is my sister Linda's birthday! She is 18 mths older than me and when we were younger we were often times dressed like twins.

My sister is absolutely beautiful ~ inside and out!

She loves the Lord and her family so much!

She is a dedicated wife and mother! She also just taught preK at a local church and I know changed the lives of so many little ones! She is a natural nurturer! I know they will miss her terribly since she will start homeschooling her little ones this coming year.
Love ya sis! Have a wonderful day!

I'm so glad that she started blogging and has a fabulous blog you can see by clicking HERE.

I should have loads of pictures for you from my continued walk down memory lane but I don't. I was busy busy busy this weekend. My boys last day of school was on Friday and my hubby loaded them up in the car and headed to his parent's farm for the weekend for some fishing, fun and a Memorial Day ceremony in Wrens, GA where 7 McTier's, and literally hundreds of others, were honored for their service in WWII . After the ceremony my boys headed home and it was so nice to have them back. I don't sleep when they are gone which helped out with the cleaning!

I did have a short break and went to the movies with my friend Nicole and her kiddos. We saw Indiana Jones - it was okay but I have to tell you that if you go you will notice that the skull they are using (it's suppose to be some kind of crystal) looks like a glass skull stuffed with plastic wrap and a few Christmas lights. Bugged me everytime they showed it. Silly I know!

So back to my busy busy busy weekend. I CLEANED like crazy. I went into it all saying don't get caught up in the walk down memory lane this weekend just get it CLEANED up and ORGANIZED and put away. I had found that I was pulling stuff out and then would sit for 2-3 days enjoying all the memories from it all and it was holding me back from getting things organized. I did find 5 rubbermade containers full of artwork, report cards, etc. for the boys and I cannot wait to sit down and go through all of that - soon! This past weekend was all about getting things put away CORRECTLY for once and deep cleaning! It was very therapuetic to throw so many things away! I'm a self admitted horder, collector, pack rat! I always think I can make something out of that or I might need that some day.

I had originally planned to PAINT PAINT PAINT this past weekend with all my boys gone but now I'm even more prepared to PAINT PAINT PAINT with all of my stuff organized! I tackled my studio room first and LOVE the way it's organized now - smartly layed out and ready for some serious creating and painting!

Okay and now for some giveways! I got these two items at an auction in Nebraska years ago ~ it was a boxed lot and I was thrilled with all of the vintage linens that were in this box. Here are two of my favorites of the lot ~

GIVEAWAY #1 Vintage apron. It is super sweet in person and the picture really doesn't do it justice. The pocket is just too cute and it's so clean I'm not sure it ever saw a day in the kitchen.

GIVEAWAY #2
4 Vintage Napkins ~

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post or any of my other posts this week and on Friday May 30th (my moms birthday) I will have one of my sweet boys draw the 2 winners.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day! This is a holiday to remember those that have served in our military and have passed on. Let's not forget those that still serve today and especially those that are in harms way on a daily basis!

Blessings,
Sandy

COOL POINTS ~
I got some cool points yesterday with my boys when I showed them my small collection of 45's. They were really impressed that I had AC/DC Back in Black, Journey, but weren't too impressed that I had Michael Jackson's BAD. My boys have done a 3-60 in the music they listen to. Last year it was all the hip hop, rap stuff that we weren't real fond of and now it's 70's, 80's and 90's ROCK - all because of Rock Band and Guitar Hero. We were walking with our youngest the other day and got the biggest laugh when my husband asked what he was listening to and he said "Iron Maiden" oh my!

Still slowly strolling down memory lane and hope to get more posted this holiday weekend but have LOTS of painting to do and I am going to have a giveaway! I'll post it in the next couple of days - if you like vintage linens you'll want to make sure to come by and visit!

Blessings,
Sandy
