New Painting and Painting class ~

So here is my latest painting with the new HD paint - Hydrangeas ~ it's so hard to see the white hydrangeas so I took it with the flash and without. I am getting so used to this paint and learning to just leave it alone when I want to do more - something that is very hard for me!
I also have to learn that unlike acrylics that dry much faster I have to walk away and leave it for a while so that it can dry before moving on ~ now that is really HARD for me cause I like to get it DONE fast.

We painted Easter Lilies this week and had such a great group of ladies that did amazing well painting this flower. Roz brought the real life plant in and taught us all about this plant - did you know it has ovaries?

I originally painted it on green and it wasn't much of a contrast so I went to the reds which I taught looked great but the red of course bleeds through the white - no matter how much paint you put on it. So, some of us painted it on red and the others on black.

Nonie

Nonie and her family were in town visiting Kim and family (all the way from Ohio) and they came to a class last night!
Her and her daughters came to class with Kim and it was so much fun having them in there.

Nonie also won the drawing and took home the project piece I painted in class.

Tiffany
(an absolute hoot ~ and so much fun to have in class)

Nicolanne ~
Nic lost her voice and not that she ever talks that much at class but it was weird to have her so quiet.

A group shot with Katherine,
Kim, Nonie, and Tiffany.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We did. My teenage boys were so excited to get candy ~ they thought for sure they were too old for that tradition but we surprised them!
Gotta get ready for paint class for tomorrow ~ we're painting a parrot.

Your hydrangeas look great. The class did a great job on the Easter Lillies. I love the contrast with the red and the black canvas.
Love ya,

Hi there sweet friend!

Gosh, it seems f-o-r-e-v-e-r since I've been able to visit you. You've been very very busy (as usual) and I've enjoyed each and every post (and photo) I've missed. If you decide to do a giveaway of your sunset photo, sign me up! Love, love, love it!

We had a ball on our California trip, but it's always nice to return home. I'm still gradually catching up on things around here. (Just in time before company comes next week...our daughter and my Mom and Aunt.)

Hugs!
Kat

YOU ARE ONE DARN GOOD TEACHER! There are so many quality projects here! You can tell by the looks on their faces that they are pleased!

By the way, I've posted on a THANK-YOU LETTER PROJECT that you might be interested in. 100 Thank You Letters are being compiled for a book. I thought you might be interested.

It was nice to meet you and to be in your painting class. We really enjoyed it. I gave the picture I painted to my mom since we were at her house for Easter this year. The one you painted is in my living room.
