Wednesday Painting classes ~
We painted flower pots in the morning class - This is kinda what started it all for me - I started painting flower pots in 2000 when we lived in Nebraska and painted over 1200 of the them in one year.
Here are some pictures of one that I did earlier this year ~ we didn't paint big pots like this one ~ that would take longer than our 2 hour class time.

I put all of the comments left in a basket and my oldest son Austin picked the name above. This would be Michelle from Big Blueberry Eyes blog! Please email me with your address so that I can get it mailed to you! ALSO, Lisa please email me your mailing address so that I can send you thank you card for coming up with this brilliant idea!

I got the canvas framed and hope that it fits into your decor Michelle! I'm thrilled that you it's going from one Military house to another!

Had a fabulous painting class this morning - we painted a variety of flowers on a flower pot and I'm off now to teach another Cherry Blossom painting class - will hopefully get pictures from both classed loaded tomorrow.
Have a great WEDNESDAY!

Busy Saturday
What a busy Saturday we had in the McTier household.
Started out with hubby and I having flu like systems with a bit of a stomach bug attached - yuk.
I took two boys to bowling at 9a.m.
Taught two painting classes from 1-3 and 4-6 p.m.
Darling hubby had to drop off middle son and friend at the soccer fields and then take our oldest son to the bowling alley for their end of season basketball party - he bowled better there than he did in league earlier in the morning - different alley, different lanes. Then they were off back to the soccer fields to watch the game. (youngest son was in tow the entire time and spent most of his time on his video ipod watching the Naked Brothers Band).

Here are the pictures from my painting class ~ had a couple of cancellations due to sickness - it's going around - but that's not surprising when it's 82 degrees one day and 60 the next.

In the first class we painted Hibiscus - my original is in the post below and is also my giveway for ONE WORLD ONE HEART.

See post below to enter (drawing will be held on Wednesday, March 21st)

Since I painted the original in reds and pinks I thought I'd paint another one with yellow hibiscus ~

Here is Ellen's Hibiscus painting. She doesn't want me to put her on here (I always ask).

Doriann
She is the reason I did a class on Hibiscus - she emailed me a gorgeous picture of her bedroom comforter that has hibiscus on it.

Alice H.
Alice J wasn't in class today so we just got to call her Alice today.

Kim
She's the same Kim that's been coming to my classes but changed her haircolor back to her original and I forgot to tell you Kim but it took years off ~ you look younger with that color!

All of the ladies did so well - especially on their leaves!!!

Then we painted a sea landscape canvas ~ 3 of the same ladies stayed for both classes ~ we had an hour in between and some ran errands (thanks for the Route 44 Diet Limeaid Kim).
There are more steps and paint colors in the project than you would think but I have to say it has to be one of the favorites so far of all the classes I've taught!

Ellen's Seascape

Christy
I know I've mentioned before she is a lefty and she just adjusts and gets right in there with getting her project painted - beautifully I might add.

Doriann,
Her hubby wants their media room to look something like this - better get started Doriann!

I'm teaching this class again Monday morning and can't wait. I have 8 students coming for that one. Will share pics tomorrow.

Have to share this too ~
Terry and Mary Jo came to my Peach and Peach blossom class the other day all with the hopes of being able to learn how to paint a peach so they could make these gifts for some commander's wives for an upcoming event.
Terry painted the peach, Mary Jo's husband wrote the words (he wears two stars on his uniform) and Mary Jo took all the credit with a sticker on the back that has her name on it - how funny is that!

Have a great week.

HIBISCUS on Canvas

Peaches & Peach Blossoms ~
Had a fabulous class yesterday - we painted Peaches! Something you must know how to do when you live in Georgia -hehehe.
Everyone did so well. We managed to all get our peaches in the middle of the plate and not worry too much about the rim of the plate - some said they will paint that at home.

Alice H.
This was Alice's 3rd class and she just ran with this one and it turned out AWESOME!

Alice J.
Don't you just love her apron? She painted an apron and bag and brought them with her to class! So glad to see my students painting on other things and outside of class!
Lovely Peach plate as well Alice.

Mary Jo

This was MJ's first class and didn't she do an awesome job?
She is an absolute HOOT and was so much fun to have in class! Kept saying "I can't do this" and look she did it!

Terry -
I always seem to get her laughing when I take her picture ~ this should show you how much FUN we have in my classes.

This is Megan and it was her first class.
She is homeschooled and we were so pleased to have her in class. She came just a tadbit late but let me tell you that didn't hold her back. I showed her how to get started and she was OFF! Some natural artistic ability ~ I think!
Hope you had fun Megan!

Off to play BINGO with the Officer's Spouses Club this a.m. I usually never win at these events so if I do I'll make a special second POST today to share my news.

Have a fabulous Thursday!

Austin turns 13!

OMgosh! My firstborn son Austin is 13 today. How is that possible? Where has that time gone?

I had a great picture of me pregnant with my belly hanging out over my pants and a huge 1980's ribbon in my hair ~ I showed it to Austin last night and told him "this is where you were 13 years ago". It's on a scrapbook page in his first year album I made his years ago and I told him I was gonna share it today - his response was~ "Mom, don't embarass yourself like that"
TOO FUNNY! No scrapbook page.

Off to a painting class today - we are painting Peaches and Peach blossoms. Don't forget to check out my challenge on a "letter" and to send me pictures if you are joining in the challenge.
I'll update with pictures from class later. Have an outstanding day!
